  1. This is my first summer at Ingalls, and my first opportunity to organize a teen SRP. With help from a grant, I have just purchased a 3D printer for the library. So I am inviting the teens to a summer of reading and building. I am putting together a “game card” with reading challenges and other activities. Each time the teens complete a square, they will have the choice of creating a 3D-printed tree, building, car, person, sign, etc. or getting a raffle ticket for the end of the summer drawing. We will be building a miniature world in the library for all to enjoy. (I’ve talked to lots of our teens and tweens and I think the program will be successful — but time will tell.)

  2. Build a Better World this summer by adding “Snap Circuits Alternative Energy” ( $63.66- Amazon) to your maker game. K’NEX Education also produces a Renewable Energy Set. In addition to gaming up the Maker club toys we are going to make solar ovens out of pizza boxes, hope for a hot day, and melt cheese on nachos!
